My name is Natalie I am 26 and I live in Polokwane in glorious South Africa! I have loved taking and just looking at pictures since the age of 7 when I got my first camera as a birthday present from my parents (yes I still have it). It was a little film camera, the kind you would buy when going on a holiday and then probably throw somewhere in a closet and forget about after developing the photos, which were never very good quality, but it was my treasure. And thus started my fascination with shaping images.
I’m kind of blundering into a book type of story here where you will notice my other love, writing. I received my training at the North West University in South Africa where I first studied BA Communications and then Journalism. I did two practical courses in photography at the university’s School of Creative Studies for which I received diplomas and where I finally fell hook, line and sinker in love with my passion: Photography.
I love each type of photography, even though I received formal training in photojournalism, landscape, portrait and fine art. I especially love fashion which I try to incorporate into my weddings as well due to my background in modelling.
I started my training in 2009 but only officially started my business in 2010 as a freelancer, but now it is my fulltime work for which I am truly thankful.
In future I would love to travel more! Although I travel a lot as it is I love seeing new and exotic places and it is one of the amazing perks of my job, just to meet new people!
Other than photography I love writing, spending time with my friends and my boyfriend (xxx), my parents whom I adore, traveling and watching old movies!
My Gear: Sony Alpha 99 and a backup Sony Alpha 58 with mainly prime lenses.
